Charles Neff

Charles ("Chuck") A. Neff is the Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), Assistant General Counsel and Director of

Compliance and Privacy. Chuck assists HII's Chief Compliance Officer in

overseeing the Company's compliance program and annual compliance

plans, and he is the primary legal advisor to the President of NNS on

compliance matters.

Chuck began practicing law in 2002. Prior to joining HII's Law Department in 2011, Chuck practiced

law at Hogan Lovells. His private practice focused on commercial transactions and government

contracts (mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, etc., for government contractors). He also

represented private equity firms and investment funds in leveraged buyouts, strategic

transactions, fund formations, and portfolio company operations.

Chuck was an associate and summer associate with Holland & Knight in McLean, Virginia. While at

the University of Virginia School of Law, Chuck served on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law

Review and was a member of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology.

He served nearly six years in the United States Navy as a combat camera photographer and public

affairs specialist.
